The Kindergarten Annual Day and Graduation Ceremony was held on the 16th March 2018 in the Shantanand Auditorium, Temple of Fine Arts, Brickfields.
The event was organized with the theme ‘Reach for the Stars - Global Child’. It was a day filled with smiles, fun and an entertaining show put up by the children themselves.
The Annual Day started off with a Welcome Poem and Dance by the KG 1 and 2 children. A poem written by the teachers were recited by six children from KG 2. The poem was a reflection of what A Global Child means. Children beautifully presented the poem with great emotions. After the recitation, a welcome dance was performed by the KG 1 & KG 2 Children.
The dances that followed were themed Joyful, Ambitious, Determined, Confident and Positive. The auditorium was filled with happy smiles and tapping feet as the little children bashfully danced away.
The winners of the story telling competition also took the stage and once again shared their story with the audience.
The final dance encompassed the true spirit of the Global Child and summed up the theme for the year.
After the exhilarating performances, it was time for the KG 2 Class of 2017-18 to get their scroll from the Principal Mr. Harvendra Singh Khalsa and Country Director Mr. Manoj Nair. This year two senior teachers were also honoured for their long service in GIIS. Ms. Amanda Lee Moreira was awarded with 5th year Service Award. She received a certificate and a plaque. Whilst Ms. K. Kalah Kulasingam was awarded with 10th year Service Award. She too received a certificate, a plaque and a gift in recognition for her dedication and service to the school.
The Annual Day and Graduation Ceremony was beautifully compered by the children themselves and it truly show cased the Kindergarteners amazing skills.
The event ended with a high as proud parents applauded and stayed on to take photos with the Principal and teachers. The hall was filled with happy smiles and loving hugs!
